Pokémon Catch Simulator
A downloadable game for Android
A little game I made when I was a young teenager.
The goal of the game is to catch every Pokémon (updated up to the 6th generation of games), but there's no reward for that. Catching them all is a great achievement, though (No one I know ever managed to accomplish this task! Be the first one and you'll be mentioned here!).
Catching
Catching works the same as it does in the mainline games: the lower the Pokémon's HP, the higher the chance to catch it. Plus, the more Pokémons you have in your collection, the more likely it will be that your throw is a critical one.
PokéBalls
In this game, you gain PokéBalls as you fight against wild Pokémons. Click on the PokéBall to change the one you're currently using.
PokéBall you're given | How many Pokémons you have to encounter to get it |
---|---|
PokéBall | 3 |
Great Ball | 5 |
Ultra Ball | 12 |
Master Ball | 100 |
Premier Balls are in the game too! But they're only showed on spacial occasions ;)

Encountering
Encounters are based around the Pokémon's "catch rate" (a value that goes from 0 to 255, 0 being uncatchable. The lowest value, usually used by legendary Pokémons, is 3): a random Pokémon is selected from a list of available ones and a random number between 0 and 255 is generated. If the generated number is lower or equal to the Pokémon's catch rate, it will spawn. Its level is then selected randomly, too.
In short: the hardest is a Pokémon to catch, the rarer it is to find. Good luck catching 'em all! :)
Special Exceptions | Encounter Rate | Catch Rate |
---|---|---|
Mew / Celebi / Rayquaza / Shaymin | 3 | 45 (17.6%) |
Phione | 3 | 30 (11.8%) |
Beldum / Metang / Metagross | 45 | 3 (1.18%) |
Side note: Shiny Pokémons aren't present, but you can encounter sleepy ones (which are easier to catch).
PokéDex
If you click on the "Sort By" button, you'll switch to the Pokédex view! There, you can see which Pokémons you have caught and whose you are missing.
Trading
Trading Pokémons is available in this game and they work completely offline. Hold down a Pokémon from your collection and press "Trade", then report your "Trainer ID" to the person you want to trade with and write down its own ID where required.
BE CAREFUL: once you proceed, your Pokémon will be deleted from your collection!
A code will be copied to your system's clipboard (if not, you can press the "share" button instead); you must share that code with your friend (using a messaging app is recommended) and insert the one you got sent where required. Once done, you should have received his Pokémon and your friend should have received yours.
Symbols on Pokémons
There are 3 possible symbols that can appear on a Pokémon. The first noticeable one being the Pokéball the Pokémon was caught in; then, the "+" symbol that shows if you have more Pokémons of that kind in your collection; and finally the "traded" icon.
Listen to music while you play
Listen to relaxing remixes from the original games as you catch those Pokémons. Credits for the tracks, and a music player, are given when you hold down the music icon.
If you're the owner of one of those tracks and would like it removed, I can try my best to recover the source code again and make edits. I made sure they were all "free-to-use" before adding them, but please let me know if I made any mistakes.
MissingNo.?!
It's a rare occasion, but, if something goes really wrong, he might appear in your collection! This usually happens when something goes wrong during a trade, but don't worry: hold down on him and press "Try to fix" and he'll be (possibly) gone forever.
There are some cases in which he just won't leave, but he's not harmful enough so don't worry (pet him if you want).
Pokémon is a trademark by Nintendo.
GameFreak legally owns the Pokémon franchise, this is just a fan-game.
